orange tango glaze stain
This is a glaze i have mixed by adding a stain to a normal clear earthenware glaze-
80 lead bisicalate
20 cornish stone
10 tango stain
im not to sure on why it has bubbled but the instructions just said HIGH FIRE
i have put them through on 1260degs and might put them through a little lower next time.
More testing..
Gold leaf and yellow porcelain painter and bisque fired.
yellow imprint piece is to see how the glaze worked on an uneven holey surface and it has been great no lumps or bubbles, the red dot is a test for the numbers that are going to be on the back of some of the ducks – Maruba ceramica (ceramic paint) the lines at the side are the pens again and testing different colours on a bright backgrounds.
7 of 9 glaze tests.

ducks ‘n’ turtles
Minature ducks and turtles; handmade.
To the right is a wavy clay piece which will soon be a doritos packet, which have also made an apperance on a beach following a container being washed up on shore!
There has also been reports of bowling ball and bouys being washed up too.
making moulds..
Casting a ‘soap on a rope’ duck.
This is purely made for slipcasting processes, i have used clay as a base, potters plaster for the cast, wood for the sides, c;ay to fill the gaps, rope to hold it together and soap to stop the two moulds from bonding.
i will upload the pictures of the finished duck before firing when the mould is dry!
I have added a link below of somebody on wordpress documenting the step by step tutorial on bow to make a ceramic slipcast mould.
